In a shocking development early Friday, September 12, gunshots were fired outside Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s residence in Bareilly’s Civil Lines area. The attack, carried out by two unidentified men on a motorbike, immediately raised concerns among fans and authorities. While speculation initially linked the incident to remarks made by Disha’s younger sister, Khushboo Patani, against spiritual leader Aniruddhacharya Maharaj, her father, Jagdish Patani, has now stepped forward to clarify that her comments were misrepresented.

The firing incident gained further notoriety after the notorious gangster Goldy Brar’s gang claimed responsibility, citing alleged “insults” against revered spiritual figures, including Premanand Ji Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Maharaj, as the motivation behind the attack.

Disha Patani’s Father Speaks Out: Clarifying Khushboo’s Remarks

Addressing the growing speculation, Jagdish Patani told ANI that Khushboo’s comments were taken out of context and wrongly linked to Premanand Ji Maharaj. He emphasized that the family is deeply respectful of saints and spiritual leaders.

"Khushboo was misrepresented. Her name was dragged into the matter of Premanand Ji Maharaj. We are Sanatanis, and we respect the sadhus and saints. If someone is misrepresenting her statement, it is a conspiracy to demean us," Jagdish clarified.

Concerned for his family’s safety, Jagdish reportedly spoke with the Mumbai Police over the phone and requested immediate security for Disha’s residence. Although the actress was abroad at the time of the incident, he stressed that security should be arranged for her return to India.

Police Provide Details of the Firing Incident

According to SSP Bareilly Anurag Arya, two unidentified men riding a motorbike fired multiple rounds outside the Patani family residence early Friday morning. The police acted swiftly, registering an FIR at the Kotwali Police Station under various sections. Armed personnel have been deployed to safeguard the family, and five investigative teams have been formed under the SP City and SP Crime to ensure a thorough probe.

"We will take strict action against the accused. I personally met with the family and have assured them of their safety," SSP Arya stated.

As of now, neither Disha Patani nor Khushboo Patani has released an official statement regarding the incident.

Gangster Goldy Brar’s Gang Claims Responsibility

Late Friday night, authorities confirmed that the firing incident outside Disha Patani’s house was claimed by the Goldy Brar gang. The gang linked the attack to alleged insults directed at Hindu saints, including Premanand Ji Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Maharaj, highlighting a religious motive behind the action.

Multiple Rounds of Firing Reported

Reports from India Today indicated that several rounds were fired during the attack, including two rounds of aerial firing around 4:30 AM. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.

A social media post claiming responsibility identified the two alleged attackers as Virendra Charan and Mahendra Saran. The post also included a warning targeting the wider film industry, stating that disrespect toward Hindu saints would not be tolerated.

Threatening Message from the Gang

The post, written in Hindi, reportedly read:

"Jai Shri Ram, Ram Ram to all brothers. I, Virendra Charan, Mahendra Saran (Delana). Brothers, today the firing that happened at Khushboo Patani/Disha Patani’s house (Villa No. 40, Civil Lines, Bareilly, UP), we got it done. She insulted our revered saints (Premanand Ji Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Ji Maharaj). She tried to demean our Sanatan Dharma. The insult of our deities will not be tolerated. This was just a trailer. Next time, if she or anyone else shows disrespect towards our religion, then no one in their house will be left alive."

The message further warned:

"This message is not just for her, but also for all the artists of the film industry and those associated with them. Whoever in the future commits such an insulting act against our religion and saints should be ready to face the consequences. To protect our religion, we are ready to go to any extent. We will never back down. For us, our religion and society are one, and protecting them is our first duty."

Police have confirmed that an investigation is underway to track down the perpetrators. Meanwhile, authorities are also working to verify the authenticity of the threatening social media post.

Current Status and Ongoing Investigation

At present, Disha Patani is not in India, and the police have assured that security measures will be implemented for her safety upon her return. Khushboo Patani, whose remarks were misinterpreted as the trigger for the attack, has also spoken up regarding the incident, reiterating that her comments were taken out of context.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident meticulously, involving multiple police teams and close coordination with local law enforcement. The investigation also includes tracing the social media post to confirm the gang’s involvement and ensure accountability.
