The upcoming Simhasth 2028 in Ujjain is set to redefine the global image of pilgrimage by becoming India’s largest "Green Maha Kumbh."
Shifting away from plastic and thermocol, the entire event will rely on eco-friendly materials like pattal (leaf plates), done, and natural bamboo infrastructure.
To combat the intense summer heat, the administration is creating "Green Forests" and natural shaded rest areas for the millions of expected devotees.
Large-scale supplies of bamboo are being sourced from Harda and Balaghat, while dedicated arrangements for sacred items like sandalwood, Tulsi, and Bilva leaves are in progress.
Simhasth 2028 promises a unique fusion of deep-rooted spirituality, environmental consciousness, and modern infrastructure.
