Last night on 8th May, Pakistan launched over 50 drones in parts of north and west India. The Indian Army foiled all attempts at destruction.
Attack warning in Chandigarh
On Friday morning, May 9th, the Chandigarh residents were awakened by Air raid sirens after the Air Force Station received a warning of a Potential attack on Chandigarh. The Chandigarh Administration has asked all residents to stay calm and remain indoors and away from their balconies.
“An Air warning has been received from Air Force Station of a possible attack. Sirens are being sounded. All are advised to remain indoors and away from balconies”, Chandigarh Administration shared this message from DC Chandigarh.
Mohali administration releases advisory
Mohali, which is a part of the tricity and the neighboring city of Chandigarh, also advised its residents to stay indoors and follow the safety protocols. Sirens were sounded in parts of Mohali as well. The Mohali administration said in an advisory
“There is an alert in some areas of UT Chandigarh. We are advising Mohali residents in bordering sectors as well as to remain indoors and away from windows and glass panels”
Both the Punjab and Chandigarh administrations have announced that all schools to remain closed due to the ongoing situation in Pakistan and India.
Multiple Drones fired by Pakistan
Pakistan has intensified the situation along the LOC and the International border, and last night, they fired multiple drones in many areas of Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, and Rajasthan. Many drones were shot down mid-air by the Indian Defence system.
Retaliation by India
When Pakistan launched an unprovoked offensive last night, India retaliated and struck some major parts of Pakistan like Islamabad, Lahore, and Sialkot. Pakistan also violated the ceasefire and resorted to shelling areas along the LOC. The situation remains tense, with security forces on high alert. Authorities have urged residents to stay alert and follow the advisories to stay safe in this tense situation.
