As the southwest monsoon gains momentum across India, several states—especially Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu—are witnessing intensified rainfall, red alerts, and widespread weather-related disruptions. The deluge has already resulted in fatalities and infrastructural disruptions across Karnataka, while broader weather systems are impacting the rest of peninsular and central India.

Monsoon 2025 Brings Twin Threats of Flood and Heat
The 2025 southwest monsoon has arrived with full force, bringing both life-giving rains and dangerous extremes. As red and orange alerts multiply across Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, and beyond, local administrations and citizens must remain vigilant. The IMD’s extended forecasts and real-time alerts continue to play a crucial role in mitigation and preparedness.
