A tragic aviation accident occurred on June 13, 2026, at the Jorhat Air Force Station in Assam, when an Indian Air Force (IAF) AN-32 transport aircraft crashed during a landing attempt.
The incident resulted in the loss of five personnel: Squadron Leader Prashant Singh, Flight Lieutenant Shubham Kumar, Sergeant Jitendra Sharma, Agniveervayu Khemaram Kumawat, and Agniveervayu Danish Alam.
The co-pilot survived the crash and is currently receiving medical treatment.
Following the accident, the IAF initiated immediate rescue and recovery operations. A Court of Inquiry has been formally ordered to determine the cause of the crash.
