Villagers Build Their Own Road After System Fails Them!

When the system fails, some take matters into their own hands! In Khodi Palas Palia, Barwani district, Madhya Pradesh, around 250 villagers had been struggling for years without a proper road.

Every monsoon, the village faced total isolation, children couldn't reach school, and the sick or pregnant women had to be carried on makeshift stretchers.

Despite filing numerous applications and pleading their case in public hearings, no road was built. Finally, 35 families decided to take action:

The Plan: Each family contributed ₹10,000.

The Execution: They hired a JCB machine and started cutting through the mountain themselves.

The Result: 35 to 40 villagers are performing daily shramdaan (voluntary labor), completing half a kilometer of road in just one week.

This project stands as a powerful example of unity, self-reliance, and courage. It proves that when people are determined, they can pave their own path to development.
