The world's only Albino panda was recorded in China's Wolong Nature Reserve

According to a source, a rare, all-white panda, thought to be the only one still living in the world today, was recently discovered in China's Wolong National Nature Reserve. The albino panda was reportedly five or six years old and didn't seem to have any health problems. Cameras at the wildlife reserve discovered the uncommon species for the first time in April 2019 at a height of about 2,000 meters (6,561 feet). The Wolong National Nature Reserve originally published images of the animal in May 2019, which revealed its white hair, claws, and peculiar crimson eyes.

CCTV footage, which is extensively disseminated on social media, claims that the reserve officials have now established a specialized squad to monitor the albino panda. After investigating the animal's potential routine and habits, the scientists constructed and installed motion-activated cameras to document its movements. According to reports, the massive panda is seen in the viral video strolling on snow and then mingling with other black and white pandas at a height of roughly 2,600 meters above sea level.

It was the "first albino giant panda recorded in the wild," according to Li Sheng, a researcher at Peking University's School of Life Sciences. More follow-up study is required, he added, because it's still uncertain if the gene will be inherited and slowly passed on in the small panda population. It should be mentioned that Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu provinces in China are home to the majority of the world's gigantic pandas, which are native to the country. About 1,860 of them were found in the wild in 2021, according to China's biodiversity survey.
