After intermediate exam results, six students, including three girls, commit suicide in Telangana

Six students, three of whom were girls, committed suicide in separate events in Hyderabad and Telangana's Nizamabad area following the release of the intermediate exam results, which are the equivalent of the results for Classes 11 and 12. The students reportedly felt disappointed with their exam results.

Six suicide fatalities were recorded, with five from Hyderabad and one from Telangana's Nizamabad region. The students took drastic action within 24 hours of the Manabadi TS Inter Results 2023 announcement.

A first-year intermediate student, age 17, killed herself at her home in Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad. According to authorities, she hung herself on Wednesday at her home.

Another girl, a 16-year-old intermediate first-year student, took her life by jumping off a building in Raidurgam on Tuesday. She was taken to the hospital right after, but she passed away from her wound on Wednesday.

On Wednesday in Panjagutta, an intermediate student in her second year took her own life.

Tuesday saw the suicide deaths of two boys, both second-year intermediate students, in Neredmet and Saifabad.

On Tuesday, a second first-year intermediate student from the Nizamabad area hanged himself, according to the police.

Telangana has previously seen student suicides following the release of intermediate exam results.

After six students committed suicide in December 2021, the state administration designated everyone to have "passed" to lessen the pressure on pupils and allow them to participate in the intermediate final-year examinations.

The 2023 TS Inter results were released on 9 May. 9.47 lakh students registered to take the Telangana test. First-year students in a total number of 4,82,677 and second-year students in a number of 4,65,022 were qualified to write the examinations, which were given at 1,473 centers around the state.

Candidates were considered qualified for the exam if they received 35% of the total marks. The qualifying marks are, however, just 25% for CWSN students.
