Panjim – Goa, 29th May 2026- The ASSOCHAM Goa Council successfully organized the Menstrual Health & Hygiene Summit themed on “Enabling Inclusive WASH solutions: Bridging gaps from awareness to action” on 29th 2026 at Panjim – Goa which brought together women leaders, government officials, medical experts, educators and corporate stakeholders to address critical aspects of women's health, adolescent literacy, and modern hygiene interventions.
In her welcome address, Mrs. Bhakti R. Dempo, Chairperson of the Women Empowerment Committee, ASSOCHAM Goa Council, highlighted that the Supreme Court officially declared Menstrual Health as a fundamental right in January 2026, introducing strict implementation guidelines to bridge systemic gaps.
Smt. Cheshta Yadav IAS (Secretary, Department of Tribal Welfare, Public Grievances, Panchayat, and Director General at GIPARD, Govt. of Goa) as the summit’s Chief Guest emphasized the vital administrative and community-level commitments required to ensure health and hygiene access reaches every adolescent and woman, especially in rural areas and urged all stakeholders to collaborate, and partner as active change makers to revolutionize grassroots wellness.
The sessions featured vital insights from leading healthcare experts. Vd. Sneha Bhagat (Founder, Oorja Wellness Centre), Dr. Nisha Naik (Consultant OBGYN, Wisdom Superspecialist Hospital – Dempo Healthcare), Ms. Anju Rajput Desai (Communication Coach & Wellness Instructor), Ms. Sukriti Malpani (General Manager, CEO’s Office, Molbio Diagnostics Pvt Ltd). An interactive panel discussion on Integrating Tech, Health, and Corporate Action was organised and participated by Dr. Meenacshi Martins (State President, Goa Mental Health & Psychosocial Wellness Council, WICCI), Ms. Oindrilla Chatterjee (Founder, Women in Tech Goa & AI/Digitalization Lead, Adage Automations), Ms. Aishwarya Jain (Head – Strategy, Program & Impact, Deltin Foundation), Dr. Kinjal Kothari (Consultant OBGYN & Member, Goa Cancer Society) and Adv. Shirley Sousa (Member, Child Welfare Committee, South District, Govt. of Goa).
It also featured dedicated segment to women Entrepreneurs in health and wellness business that allowed female founders and startups to pitch their businesses and unlock new growth opportunities. The summit was concluded by Dr. Jaanavi Prabhudesai, Co-Chairperson Women Empowerment committee, ASSOCHAM Goa by proposing vote of thanks.
