The place shown in the movie is completely real. Only the story is fictional.

Mining at Kolar Gold Fields in Karnataka started back in 1880 under British rule and private companies.

It continued until 2001 when the government shut it down saying the operation had become too expensive.

Shockingly the first electricity used for mining in India was introduced right here at KGF.

The movie shows Rocky Bhai as a gangster ruling the mines.

But in reality it was the British government and companies who controlled everything.

Workers did put in hard labour but they were paid fair wages. However the rules were extremely strict.
