A major discovery has been made in Giridih district, Jharkhand.
The Geological Survey of India (GSI) has found strong indications of a large lithium reserve in the Asurhatti village forest area.
After more than one and a half years of continuous survey, drilling, and boring, samples have been sent for lab testing.
A team from the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, also inspected the site.
If confirmed, this lithium deposit could turn Jharkhand into India’s new lithium hub.
Lithium, known as “white gold”, is a critical element for electric vehicles, mobile batteries, and renewable energy storage.
The discovery has the potential to create thousands of jobs and set up a big industrial plant in the region.
This could be a game changer not just for Jharkhand but for the entire country.
