Kolkata’s Rainbow Flyovers Spark Road Safety Concerns 🌈⚠️

Kolkata’s colourful flyovers, painted ahead of Durga Puja, have sparked a road safety debate after viral dashcam videos reportedly showed two wheelers skidding on wet surfaces.

The beautification drive, supported by CSR funds, included prominent routes such as the Chingrighata flyover. However, concerns have emerged over whether the painted surfaces provide enough grip during rainfall.

Following public concerns, authorities have reportedly ordered an investigation and begun inspecting the affected stretches. Officials had said the paints were intended to be anti skid, but questions remain about their performance in wet conditions.
