Snake Found In Bihar Midday Meal: 150+ Students Fall Ill In Saharsa

A shocking incident of medical negligence has emerged from Baluaha village in the Saharsa district of Bihar.

On Thursday, May 7, 2026, over 150 school children aged 6–14 were rushed to hospitals after consuming a midday meal allegedly contaminated with a baby snake.

The children reportedly started complaining of severe stomach pain, vomiting, and nausea shortly after eating the meal supplied by an NGO.

They were first taken to the Mahishi Primary Health Centre and later referred to the Saharsa Sadar Hospital.

Following the chaos, District Magistrate Deepesh Kumar visited the facility and ordered an immediate investigation into the NGO's kitchen practices, directing an FIR against both the NGO and school management.

This incident raises urgent questions about the safety of food served to millions of children daily.
