Tottenham Hotspur has finally won a major trophy after 17 years. They have etched their names in the history books after defeating Manchester United by 1-0 in the Europa League Final played at San Mames, Bilbao. Brennan Johnson was the main man for Spurs as the forward scored the match's only goal in the 42nd minute just before halftime. Spurs put in the best shift of the season defensively as their defence did not let United score, even after the Red Devils had most of the possession, more shots on target, and all the United attacking display was overshadowed by the Spurs' defence. Romero, Van de Ven, and the goalkeeper Vicario were the key players for Spurs on the night of the final. Van de Ven pulled off an absolutely high-flying move whilst denying Hojlund from a goal in the second half, his goal line clearance and Vicario’s saves in the second half, including one to deny Shaw in the final moments of the game, stoppage time won Spurs their first trophy after 17 long years.

There remains a major doubt over Postecoglou’s future despite the epic night at Bilbao. In the aftermath of the most significant trophy win of his career, Ange hinted that he wants to stay as the Coach and he wants to build on this Europa League success. His future will be confirmed in the upcoming days.
Son Heung-min lifts his first European trophy
After years of dreaming and a decade of near misses, the “Spurs Legend” has finally lifted a European trophy for the first time in his career. Son started the game on the bench. He was subbed on in the 66th minute of the match, and the forward then ran tirelessly across every part of the ground until the end of the match. After getting his heart broken in the 2016-17 Premier League, UCL 2018-19, and the League Cup in 202,0, the Korean has finally won a final with Spurs for the first time in 10 years with the club. Son Heung Min, after the wi,n expressed his joy and said, after being asked if he is a legend of the club, the Spurs man responded by saying
“ Let’s say I’m a legend. Why not?Only today” “ In 17 years , nobody has done it. Today’s the day probably I will say I am a Legend, Let’s enjoy it, let’s celebrate. It feels amazing. It’s what I’ve always dreamed of. Today is the day the dream came true. I’m the happiest man in the world.
While Spurs celebrated their long-awaited success, Manchester United were left disappointed, ending the season with no trophy and will probably end the season in 16th position, Spurs will be playing in the Champions League next season, whereas Manchester United will be missing European football. Both teams are expected to be really active in the upcoming transfer window as both teams will be looking to improve their domestic performances in the next season.
