Gill and Buttler bat Gujarat up to second in IPL after big win over Hyderabad - VYGR

Gujarat Titans who have one of the strongest top order in the tournament once again enjoyed runs from their star players- Sai Sudharsan , Captain Shubman Gill and The boss from England Jos Buttler.

Sai and Gill gave a flying start to the team on a great batting pitch as they scored 82-0 in their first six overs. Their 87 runs partnership came to an end in the 7th over after Sai was dismissed for 48 by Zeeshan Ansari after Klaasen took a wonderful catch behind the stumps. After losing Sai it was expected that the Titans run rate would drop down a bit , but Buttler and Gill had some other plans as they kept on playing some attacking shots and took their team to a big total of 224. Shubman Gill was the highest scorer from Titans as he scored 76 off just 38 balls , before being just short of his ground during running between the wickets. His dismissal was a bit controversial as the the Captain was seen arguing with the 4th official after being given out by the third umpire. Jos Buttler also managed to score his 5th fifty of this Ipl season, he scored 64 off just 37 balls.

Sunrisers batting lineup fails again

When Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma caused carnage at Kotla -VYGR

The destructive batting line up of Sunrisers once again failed to live up to the expectations as this is now Sunrisers 7th loss in 10 matches played this season. The Travi-shek opening provided a decent start to the chase and it took a brilliant Rashid Khan moment on the field to break their partnership in the 5th over when the Purple cap holder Prasidh Krishna dismissed Travis Head for 20(16). Abhishek Sharma scored a brilliant 74 off 41 balls but did not get any support from the other end as both Ishan and Klassen were not able to score big on this batting paradise. Abhishek was dismissed by Ishant Sharma in the 15th over which ended Sunrisers chance of winning the match.

Clinical bowling display from Gujarat

Prasidh Krishna was awarded  the man of the match award for his impressive performance where he secured 2 crucial wickets of Head and Klassen who are both one of the most dangerous hitters of the ball. He received solid support from Siraj who also picked up 2 important  wickets while Ishant Sharma and Gerald Coetzee also managed to take 1 wicket each. The main man Rashid Khan was once again targeted by the batters as he gave 50 runs in only three overs.
