Abhishek’s Fury Unleashed: Four Sixes and One Devastating Knockout Blow

In the 61st match of IPL 2025, Sunrisers Hyderabad ended Lucknow Super Giants’ playoff hopes by defeating them by 6 wickets. The main man for SRH was their young Starboy Abhishek Sharma, who scored 59 off just 20 balls and made the match one-sided in the first 7 overs of the innings, after which good and steady knocks from Klassen and Kamindu Mendis ensured that the Sunrisers would be leaving Lucknow with 2 points. Abhishek Sharma was awarded the man of the match trophy for his innings. Abhishek was the main attraction of the match from his four sixes against Ravi Bishnoi to his heated argument with Digvesh Rathi.

Strong Batting display by LSG

LSG openers once agin gave them a strong start as both the openers scored fifties and the opening stand was of 115 runs before Mitchell Marsh was dismissed for 65 by Harsh Dubey and his partner Aiden Markram scored 61 off 38 balls and finishing touches from Pooran took the team to 205-7 after they were asked to bat first by Sunrisers captain Pat Cummins. The big story of the night was once again LSG captain Rishabh Pant who once again failed to capitalize after coming to bat at 3 and when his team was in a strong position, the left handed batsman was once again dismissed on a single digit score of 7 by Eshan Malinga who took a spectacular catch in his follow through.

SRH have had a very lackluster season and have not been able to perform according to their fans expectations but they finally played like their fans want them to play in this match and the man leading from the front was none other than their very own Starboy Abhishek Sharma who smashed 59 off just 20 balls and gave his team a flying start from the first ball he faced. In his innings, the youngster smashed 6 sixes and 4fourss out of the six maximums, four came against Ravi Bishnoi in the 7th over of the innings, where Abhishek smashed 4 consecutive sixes, after which the LSG bowlers were never able to recover. This was Abhishek’s second fifty of the season, which came off just 18 balls.

Heated Argument between Abhishek and Digvesh Rathi

Digvesh Rathi who has faced several fines due to his trademark notebook celebration got the wicket of Abhhishek in the 8th over and took out his notebook to write Abhishek’s name and gave him an aggressive send off, Abhishek Sharma did not liked the way Digvesh gave him the send off and he came back to ask Digvesh what was he doing which then resulted in a heated argument between the two players. The umpires had to interfere in between to pull the players away from each other. The argument continued after the match finished, and the two exchanged a few words while shaking hands with each other. Vijay Dahiya of LSG was also seen intervening in the post-match conversation and helping both players to cool down. During the post-match presentation, both players were seen standing next to each other, and they were laughing and having a calm conversation after BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla walked up to the duo and managed to calm both players. Today, both players have been fined. Digvesh has been fined 50% of his match fees and is also suspended for LSG's next match against Gujarat, whereas Abhishek has been fined 25% of his match fees.
