Harry Brook Era Begins in style for England Cricket with a Record Victory Over West Indies

England cricket has kick-started a new era in style as they completely dismantled the West Indies in the 1st One day International played at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Harry Brook, who was announced as the new English Captain after Jos Buttler stepped down from the captaincy role after a disappointing Champions Trophy campaign, have given the England fans a new ray of hope and has kickstarted his captaincy era with a huge victory in his first match as the captain on England senior Cricket team. The West Indies and England are currently playing a 3-match ODI series in England, and Harry Brook has had a dream start in this new role as England registered a record-breaking victory over the  West Indies by 238 runs. West Indies won the toss and they elected to bowl first on a flat Edgbaston pitch, England took full advantage of the pitch and scored 400 runs in 50 overs and bowled out the Windies for just 162 runs in 26.2 overs and registered a big win in the first match of the “Harry Brook era”. Harry is called the next big thing in English cricket, and his consistent and exceptional performances for England in the past are some reasons why he is being trusted with this leadership role so early in his career at the age of 26. Harry has become one of the youngest English captains in their history.

England is the team that has revolutionised the game of cricket in the modern era, and they were the ones who started the aggressive batting and batting with intent during the Eoin Morgan era, which has led to the transformation of the approach in the game of cricket. This match was no different. The English batters attacked the Windies bowlers from the first over as Jamie Smith and Ben Duckett provided England with a strong start in the first 10 overs, as England scored 90 runs in the first 10 overs for the loss of 1 wicket. Duckett and the Experienced Joe Root scored half-centuries, which put England in a strong position in the middle overs. Harry Brook, the new England captain, also scored a brilliant 58 runs off just 45 deliveries and started his new era with a batting masterclass. Former England Captain Jos Buttler, who has been in good form recently, also contributed and scored  37 runs off 32 and provided support to Jacob Bethell. England board and fans have shown a lot of trust and support in Jacob Bethell the young English lad who has shown many glimpses of the talent he possesses and once again the ‘next big thing’ o cricket Jacob Bathell played a mtch defining innings of 82 off just 53 balls and the youngster smashed the ball all over the park and proved why he is regarded as the next big thing. Bethell took the match away from the West Indies and took England to 400 runs, which was just way too much for the West Indies. Bethell was also supported by Will Jacks, who scored 39 runs off just 24 balls. Jayden Seales of the West Indies took 4 wickets in the match, whereas Alzarri Joseph and Justin Greaves took 2 wickets each.

England bundled out the West Indies for just 162 as they were just too good on the day.Saqib Mahmood and Jamie Overton took 3 wickets each , Adil Rashid also took 2 crucial wickets wheras Man of the Match Jacob Bethell and Brydon Carse took 1 wicket each to ensure England takes a 1-0 lead in the series. The second and third Odi will be played on 1st June and 3rd June in Cardiff and London.
