#GaonZaraHatKe : If someone calls you by whistling what would you do?

The kids in this video are not just whistling or humming a tune. They're telling you their names.

Deep inside the beautiful valleys and mysterious hills of Meghalaya lies a small village called Kongthong.

This village is known as the Whistling Village of India.

It is famous for its unique tradition of naming people. Here nobody is called Ram, Shyam, Akash or Vishal. Names here are melodies.

When a child is born the mother sings a lullaby and hums a unique tune into the baby's ear.

That unique tune becomes the child's name for life. Every person has their own musical identity.
