A distressing incident has come to light from the Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh, where an elderly man was forced to take matters into his own hands due to medical apathy.

After bringing his sick wife to the district government hospital and failing to receive any treatment or ambulance assistance for a long time, the man placed his semi-conscious wife on a hand-pulled cart to transport her away from the facility.

The visuals of the man pulling the cart have since gone viral, sparking outrage across social media.

In response, the District Magistrate has initiated an inquiry into the hospital's negligence and has called for strict action against those responsible.
