6 pilgrims, including 5 women and a child, died in a horrifying road accident in Solpaur district, Maharashtra on Friday, 30th June. An SUV carrying passengers headed into a collision with a cement mixer truck. 11 other passengers, including 3 women, got injured in this accident.
Pilgrims were returning to their place in Kalaburagi district, Karnataka, after visiting Pandharpur and Akkalkot in Solapur. A truck was traveling towards Solapur at high speed and crashed into a vehicle carrying passengers. The accident took place at 5:30 pm near Shirwalwadi, Akkalkot Tehsil.
Police ran to the place for their service. The injured were shifted to a government hospital. Deceased people include Sangeeta Mane (35), Sundarabai Rajput (55), Lalita Bagge (50), Rohini Pujari (40), Sainath Pujari (10). There is no trace of the identity of one body.
