PV Sindhu shows grit in French Open Super 750 Tournament Opener

On Tuesday, India's PV Sindhu defeated Indonesia's Gregoria Mariska Tunjung to advance to the second round of the women's singles French Open Super 750 badminton tournament. 

After 69 minutes of tight play, Sindhu defeated Tunjung 12-21, 21-18, 21-15.

Earlier, the men's doubles second round was quickly advanced by the newly crowned world number one pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty.

The world No. 34 Lucas Corvee and Ronan Labar were defeated by the gold medalists from the Asian Games, who had skipped the Denmark Open super 750 the previous week. The score was 21-13, 21-13.

Lucas and Ronan were defeated by Satwik and Chirag in just 35 minutes. Satwik and Chirag were in complete control of the match, leading 11-6 at halftime and maintaining their lead to win the first game.

The second game followed a similar pattern as Satwik and Chirag again surged out to an 11-6 lead and maintained it to win the match.
