Cyclone Arnab? Here’s What Actually Happened 🌧️🌪️

The viral video you just saw was not Cyclone Arnab. On September 23–24, strong winds from the Bay of Bengal crossed the coast near Kalingapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, reaching around 75 km/h.

The IMD classified the system as a Deep Depression, not a cyclone. “Arnab” is a preassigned cyclone name suggested by Bangladesh, meaning “ocean” or “sea” in Bengali.

So, a weather system did affect parts of eastern India, but it was not officially named Cyclone Arnab.
