#GoanZaraHatKe : Have you ever heard that drinking alcohol will not just get you fined but you must also feed the entire village?
Tinheta village in Jabalpur has become a role model for the entire country.
Once alcohol was part of every tribal ritual here. Today touching liquor is considered a sin.
The village women took a strong stand and made a strict rule. If caught drinking the penalty is Rs 20000 and a community feast for the whole village.
Now no wedding or prayer ceremony serves alcohol. Even Lord Shiva is offered mahua flowers instead.
The result is stunning. In the last ten years there has not been a single police case from this village.
Children are training in wrestling akhadas. The local hospitals have zero liver or kidney patients.
Inspired by Tinheta five neighbouring panchayats have also imposed a total liquor ban.
This village is a powerful lesson for those who justify addiction in the name of tradition.
