The sensational Jaipur murder case, in which a 23-year-old law student has been accused of orchestrating her mother's murder for a government job and family property, has taken a dramatic new turn. Fresh allegations made by the victim's brother have now cast suspicion over the death of the accused's father, prompting police to examine whether the earlier death also warrants investigation.

The latest claims have intensified public scrutiny of a case that has already shocked the country due to its alleged motive and carefully planned execution.

A murder allegedly disguised as a road accident

The case revolves around the death of Neeraj Sharma, a Jaipur court employee who was killed on July 3 after being run over by an SUV in what initially appeared to be a tragic road accident. However, investigators later alleged that the incident was, in fact, a premeditated contract killing.

Police arrested Neeraj's daughter, Ayushi Sharma, a final-year LLB student, accusing her of masterminding the murder with the help of relatives and hired assailants. According to investigators, Ayushi allegedly paid around ₹7 lakh to contract killers to stage the murder as an accident.

The probe has so far led to the arrest of seven accused, while one suspect remains absconding. Investigators have claimed that the conspiracy involved multiple people across Rajasthan and neighbouring states.

Alleged motive: Government job and family property

Police believe the alleged motive behind the murder was financial gain.

After the death of Ayushi's father, Vijay Sharma, last year, Neeraj had secured a clerical position in a Jaipur court on compassionate grounds—a provision under which eligible family members of deceased government employees may receive employment.

Investigators allege that Ayushi wanted the same government job for herself and was unhappy that her mother had received the appointment instead. Police also suspect she wanted control over the family's property, making Neeraj's death central to her alleged plans.

Officials have further claimed that the accused had explored multiple ways to eliminate her mother before the fatal attack, suggesting the conspiracy evolved over time rather than being a spontaneous act.

Uncle raises fresh questions over father's death

The investigation has now expanded following allegations made by Rakesh Sharma, Neeraj Sharma's brother and Ayushi's maternal uncle.

Rakesh has approached both the police and the courts seeking a formal investigation into the circumstances surrounding Vijay Sharma's death, arguing that it may not have been natural as previously believed.

According to his complaint, Vijay had suffered a brain stroke and was allegedly shifted to an unidentified hospital by Ayushi and another relative, Balram, without informing the wider family. Rakesh claims the family remained unaware of Vijay's exact treatment for nearly three months.

He further alleged that whenever Neeraj sought information about her husband's condition, Ayushi only told her that he had been admitted to a private hospital.

When Vijay was eventually brought home, doctors reportedly informed the family that several of his organs had already failed.

Serious allegation regarding feeding tube

Perhaps the most serious allegation in the latest complaint concerns Vijay Sharma's final days.

Rakesh has alleged that Ayushi removed her father's feeding tube, leading to his death. At present, these allegations remain unproven, and no police agency has officially concluded that Vijay's death was anything other than the result of illness.

However, the complaint has prompted investigators to question Ayushi regarding the circumstances surrounding her father's treatment and death. Police have indicated that they are examining the claims as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police continue expanding investigation

The Jaipur Police have not officially declared Vijay Sharma's death a homicide. Instead, officers have stated that the uncle's allegations are being verified as part of the broader investigation.

Authorities are reportedly examining medical records, statements from family members and the sequence of events leading up to Vijay's death to determine whether any criminal angle exists.

This means that, at present, the allegations regarding the father's death remain under investigation and should not be treated as established facts.

Earlier investigation revealed elaborate conspiracy

The case first gained national attention after investigators claimed Neeraj Sharma's death was not an accident but a meticulously planned murder.

Police alleged that Ayushi conspired with relatives, including her cousin Balram, to arrange the killing. Investigators believe hired attackers deliberately rammed an SUV into Neeraj, attempting to make the incident appear as a routine road accident.

According to police, the alleged conspirators had even made an earlier unsuccessful attempt before carrying out the fatal attack. That failed attempt reportedly made Neeraj more cautious, forcing the accused to modify their plans before executing the final conspiracy.
