MP Food Safety Crackdown: 150 kg Namkeen and 35 Tonnes of Palm Oil Seized 🚨

Ahead of Diwali, the Food Safety Department in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone district has launched inspections across seven food establishments over suspected food safety violations.

Officials seized 150 kg of namkeen in Maheshwar for allegedly missing mandatory batch numbers and licence details. They also intercepted 35 tonnes of refined palm oil worth around ₹40 lakh, reportedly being sold in open containers.

Authorities collected 14 food samples and sent them to a Bhopal laboratory for testing. Further action will depend on the findings.

This festive season, check food labels, licence details, packaging and expiry dates before buying sweets and snacks.
