A disturbing incident of highway robbery recently went viral after a group of cyclists was targeted on the Sangrur-Patiala highway in Punjab.

At approximately 5:15 AM, the occupants of a white Maruti Zen intercepted the cyclists, causing one to fall and sustain injuries, before brandishing swords to steal their mobile phones.

Punjab Police acted quickly, arresting the accused within just a few hours.

Authorities recovered four stolen mobile phones, the vehicle used in the robbery, and an Activa scooter.

While the investigation remains ongoing, the incident has sparked fresh concerns regarding safety for commuters and cyclists on public highways.
