Residents in Devbhoomi have been battling a severe water shortage for months, and the situation has now reached a boiling point.
Frustrated villagers recently took to the streets with torches to protest, chanting slogans against the administration and the water department, demanding an immediate solution to the crisis.
The irony of the situation is heartbreaking: this region is the sacred site where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers meet to form the River Ganga.
Yet, the very people living there are struggling to find drinking water.
Amidst the sweltering heat, villagers have issued a stern warning: if their basic needs are not met, the protests will only intensify.
