Chaos at Patliputra Station: Bihar Police Exam Aspirants Clash with Police

A scene of total chaos unfolded at Bihar's Patliputra Junction as lakhs of candidates appeared for the Bihar Police Prohibition Constable recruitment examination.

With over 1.6 million applicants competing for just 4,128 posts, the sheer volume of students led to severe overcrowding, train delays, and eventually, a breakdown of law and order.

Frustrated by inadequate transport arrangements, exam-bound students occupied railway tracks and protested, which escalated into stone-pelting and vandalism.

Several police personnel, including Central Range Inspector General Jitendra Rana, sustained injuries during the clashes.

Authorities had to resort to lathi-charges, tear gas, and even warning shots in the air to disperse the crowd and restore normalcy.

This incident highlights the immense pressure and logistical challenges faced by aspirants in high-stakes government recruitment drives.
