Delhi Police Personnel Protest Outside Own Headquarters; ACP Leading Demonstration Suspended

In an unusual development, several Delhi Police personnel staged a protest outside their own headquarters on Jai Singh Road on Monday, demanding action over an ongoing dispute with lawyers in Shahdara, East Delhi.

The conflict began after a confrontation between police personnel and lawyers over an assault case. Following allegations that ACP Manasvi Vashistha and SHO Arun Kumar threatened lawyers, both officers were transferred. Lawyers subsequently launched an indefinite strike.

Protesting police personnel demanded a meeting with Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar and a clear Standard Operating Procedure for resolving such conflicts. The situation escalated further when ACP Manasvi Vashistha, who was leading the demonstration, was suspended.
