Education does not come only within school walls.
Some people grow in the lap of nature and become an encyclopedia for the entire world.
Born in Karnataka's Hakki tribal community a woman who never learned to read or write is today called the Forest Encyclopedia of the world.
Her name is Tulsi Gowda.
Over 70 years of relentless struggle she has planted more than 30000 trees. She learned the language of every plant.
Which herb comes from which plant and in which season they grow best. Nature was her only teacher.
The world took notice of her when she arrived barefoot to receive the Padma Shri.
Her simplicity earned global respect. This honour is a symbol of her priceless contribution and deep love for nature.
Tulsi Gowda teaches us that saving the earth does not need a degree. It just needs a true heart.
