.0-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Tibet's Nagqu City; Tremors Felt in Lhasa

🚨 Tibet: 7.0-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes China’s Remote Region

A powerful 7.0-magnitude earthquake reportedly struck Baqen County in Nagqu City, Tibet Autonomous Region, late Thursday night, sending tremors across the high-altitude plateau.

According to the China Earthquake Networks Center, the shallow quake occurred at a depth of just 10 kilometres. Tremors were also reportedly felt in Lhasa, around 400 kilometres away.

Initial reports indicated no immediate casualties or structural collapses. However, local disaster management teams are assessing remote settlements to check for possible damage.

The earthquake comes months after severe flash floods and landslides affected parts of the wider Himalayan region in August. Authorities have confirmed that the two events are unrelated.
